overview geo targeting lets you include or exclude specific geographical regions (states, cities, dmas, and zip codes) and locations (points of interest and coordinates) it’s one of the most commonly used forms of targeting, since where a person is located often determines what’s relevant to them note if you do not configure any geo targeting rules, your campaign will default to targeting the entire united states geo targeting options geo targeting supports (target) and (exclude) targeting supported regions include states, cities, dmas, and zip codes you can add geo targeting three ways manually select regions click the regions button in the search bar, search for a country, state, city, dma, or zip code make your selection for positive targeting select the plus button for negative targeting select the circle with a line through it click save import an xlsx file of regions click the regions button download the xlsx sample file follow the instructions when adding dmas, cities, and zip codes save the file to your computer click import , and select file you just created click save use a saved geo list geo lists are created in the configuration section of the platform go to geo lists docid 9neb8mgq7jl hnvsiwzwn to learn more click the regions button click the saved lists button in the search bar, search for and select the geo list you want to use note that this action will overwrite all other selections you may have made click save
